Video consumption on CNN.com has reached a record 116 million videos streamed in March, according to internal CNN numbers. This is a 5 percent increase over February. CNN.com Live, the live streaming service that offers four simultaneous streams, had 4 million streams in March. An increasingly popular live stream is the show hosted by four anchors including Melissa Long She covers the political beat from the CNN Election Center in New York.

CNN.com has taken notice of the Huffington Post and the Daily Beast as "opinion destinations" and wants a "horse in that race," CNN.com General Manager KC Estenson told me last night, after the industry introduction of the revamped cnn.com site. He said that Arianna Huffington and Tina Brown, founder of the Daily Beast, had done a "really nice things" with their sites.

It has its own url as ireport.com. This is completely different from what iReport had been, which had solicited contributed content, then edited it to essentially augment main CNN coverage. The site provides members with the opportunity to upload and share.
