Dr. Tim Synott of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) emphasizes the importance of maintaining and managing the forests in the world. The FSC provides an independent, global guarantee that timber comes from forests where sustainable extraction doesn't threaten wildlife or indigenous people.

Great Lakes Solutions, a wholly owned business of Chemtura (NYSE:CHMT) announced today that it is increasing prices in all regions up to 30% effective April 1, 2011. The price increases cover 10 different types of chemical products the business makes. Anne Noonan, President of Great Lakes Solutions, stated, "The bromine franchise continues to face severe raw material escalation and increasing costs to secure global supply, product stewardship and continued advocacy efforts. The proposed increase is necessary to ensure high-quality supply to our customers." Chemtura is trading up 1.2% at $16.80 per share.
