I was rushing down the escalators
as she was coming up.
as she was coming up.
I barely glanced at her
then all of a sudden
I couldn't breath any more.
I looked at her again to see
who she was but like me
she was gasping for air.
I strained to speak a word
anything to tell her what
she had done to me but
her time
my time
the cities time was more valuable
than what we felt.
We just looked at each other as the
escalators took us away.
I thought about
her as I caught my train.
I wonder if
she thought of me as
she had
her first drink of the night.
