Successful Businesses Created By Women

Young, Female Entrepreneurs Cater to Feminine Side

SundiSC
Small business ownership among young women 18-34 is growing. I am always inspired by young, female entrepreneurs. Here are two young women who have businesses that are creative and inspiring. I love feminine pursuits and businesses, and these two women have created successful businesses that cater to the feminine side.

The Ritzy Pixie

Located in Dallas, GA, at 209 Main St., this quaint and charming shop houses an array of unique and girly gifts. Even more exciting are the parties that are offered for young girls, from tea parties to spa parties, to annual balls. The business even offers Princess Week, where each day of the week there is a different princess who hosts a tea party, complete with songs, etiquette lessons, and tasty treats.

The owner, Alisha Collins, is a twenty something former elementary teacher, who turned her passion for tea parties and children into a thriving business. She taught for three years before deciding to open her store. I have visited this shop several times, and I love it. I love all things girly and I love tea parties, so I like to frequent the shop for cute and unique gifts. I think it's cool that a twenty something young woman loves tea parties, and has devoted a business to hosting tea parties for young ladies. It inspires me, because I want to do the same.

Uptown County Home

This ultra feminine shabby chic boutique is located in Dallas, TX, and is run by Jenny Grumbles. The 28 year old attended Southern Methodist, with plans to go into broadcast journalism. But, her passion for feminine home décor and gifts propelled her to open her own business. And, Uptown Country Home was born. After graduating from college she moved to California to pursue a television anchor position. Although she was offered the job, she turned it down, because by then she realized that she wanted to own her own shop more.

Her shop is filled with beautiful shabby chic furniture, gifts, and home décor items. By visiting her website you will see all of the beautiful treasures that she sells in her shop. The décor is a lot of brown and pink and shabby meets chic. The store is located at 3419 Milton in Dallas, TX.

These two shop owners are inspiring women. I consider them smart southern belles who went with their passions and created successful businesses that cater to the feminine and girly-girl nature in women and girls. If you have a dream and you want to turn your passion into a small business, don't ever think that you're too young to make it happen. These ladies are proof that you can do it while you're young and you can be successful too!
