In a Sept.26 press release, suckered.us states that according to killerstartups.com, suckered.us will be one of the most successful startups of 2007. The press release says that the Alexa rankings also agree with those predictions. Alexa is the web information company that powers the suckered.us site. Suckered.us bills itself as a "venue on-line for genuine ranting, complaining or just venting your spleen". CEO Chelsie Murphy founded suckered.us in June 2007.

According to the press release, suckered.us is already having over 20,000,000 page views per month and boasts 1 million visitors each month. Suckered.us says that these figures are "unique" visitors.

Suckered.us is a relatively new on-line site where one can publish articles in the rant and rave genre. The service is free. Users /readers rate the articles to propel them to the top where they will be seen by all of the users/raters. The front page for Sept 26 at the time this article is being written, states that there are 445 complaints in the data bank and that Alexa shows the traffic rank to be 132,634. At the top of their homepage is an invitation that reads, "Have you been screwed over by someone? Tell the whole world with your own sub-domain alert."

The Decider Guy currently holds the top position. It is http://bush.suckered.us/. The press release states that suckered.us believes it will have a good Google ranking.
Other popular spots are http://cheap.celebrities.suckered.us and http://myspace.really.suckered.us.
There is also a rant about the Paxil medication scandal, which suckered.us states deserved more coverage. Paxil, is a product of pharmaceutical manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline. In 2006, they settled a According to consumeraffairs.com lawsuit and agreed to pay $14 million because of legal actions undertaken by 49 states which claimed the pharmaceutical company over charged their Medicaid programs by wrongfully delaying generic competition for Paxil which is used treat depression, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorders.

Suckered.us uses TLD extensions which are very popular. This stands for the Internet top level domains, according to Wikipedia, which also has a list of the Internet top level domains. Suckered.us also employs user created sub-domains so that each topic can be searched by keyword.

According to Suckered.us, one of their advertising opportunities includes buying your own company sub-domain as an ad-spot. The advertising page on the site encourages business to buy ads because "Our global reach and continual growth speaks for itself". The site has published their stats, which they say proves their global reach and growth, at the bottom of the page.

In the future, www.Suckered.Us has plans for a facebook application as well as a new myspace widget.

Very interesting concept. Since so many people like to complain, it just might be successful. Numbers so far look like a good outcome.

Interesting - like almost all the other commenters, I'd never heard of this either. But is Suckered.Us actually suckering US? I wonder. I like to rant - maybe I'll go write something there!

I love these type of site so that people can get the word out. There are so many times that information can not spread because of the companies' pressure to keep secrets.
