Sugar Cane Tableware - an Alternative Earth Friendly Idea for that Next Party

Different Ideas for the Environmentally Friendly Party - the Choice is Yours!

# 1 - An old and good earth-friendly party idea!

Use your favorite re-washable, reusable tableware. When the party is over, spend a few minutes hand-washing those dishes and silverware and store them in the cupboard to be reused over and over. Pay a one-time purchase price for the tableware and use them until they are passed down to the next generation. An added bonus is that after each reuse, and the few minutes of clean-up, the work is done and the landfill never has to deal with continuous bags and years of expensive party waste.

Some supplies lose their appeal and start to cost even more as soon as the party is over

Party supplies that are not re-washable or reusable will require more expense, work and time spent on packing and moving what will soon become unsanitary and odorous garbage. More space will be needed to store the unsightly trash bags before the garbage removal truck makes an appearance to remove the refuse and send another bill.

# 2 - Back to the earth party dishes?

Biodegradable sugar cane party plates and forks are an eco friendly idea and there is no plastic or wax lining. Just stack the used plates and utensils and carry them to your compost pile where they could make a natural return to the earth in 30 to 60 days - from nature and back to nature.

The sugar cane plant

This plant has a high cellulose content that can be used for a variety of products, such as: liquors, molasses, ethyl alcohol, cardboard, paper and party tableware.

Bagasse?

Sugar cane tableware is made from a recycled fibrous material called bagasse. Bagasse is an agricultural crop by-product residue left behind after the sugar cane is crushed and the sugar is removed in the manufacturing process. Bagasse is 100 % biodegradable. At one time, this material was burned after pulping , thereby creating air pollution.

Weaving the pulped material

Now the pulped material is woven to create beautifully designed, natural-colored tableware in a variety of shapes and sizes: bowls, cups, plates, kitchen and hand towels, napkins, even tissue and toilet paper. They can withstand heat, are microwaveable and can be used in refrigeration. Earth-friendly tableware is available with selections that are biodegradable, healthy and non-toxic with no dyes or preservatives and can be recycled back into the earth.

Earth friendly ideas are popping up in many areas for concerned consumers and now even a birthday party can be green with the right research and planning.
