Sugar Mountain Resort, Skiing and Snowboarding
For Both Beginners, and the Most Advanced Trail Riders
Sugar Mountain is the ideal place for beginners. The Big Red slope is just perfect. They label it as an intermediate slope, however, I believe it is ideal for the beginner. It is not too long, and not too short, and straight forward. There are no sudden turns, trees in the middle of the trail, or any other major obstacle. So book your slope side condo along side the Big Red trail. Sugar Mountain is home to twenty trails for both skiers and snowboarders. With over 115 acres to ski on and a long run of over one and a half miles, even the most experienced skier/snowboarder will enjoy his or her stay in Sugar Mountain. If staying at the top of the mountain in the slope side condos, do not worry about having to drive a long way to get to the grocery store or local shops, it is a short two mile drive to everything you need. For those beginner's, don't worry, there is a heated pool and a hot tub located within walking distance or inside of your residence to heel those bumps a bruises.
If you are looking for a fun and affordable place to take the family or a group of friends this winter, then head on of the road to the North Carolina Mountains and to the Sugar Mountain Resort. With much to offer, you are sure to have yourself an excellent time.

Post a CommentI've lived in Boone & Winston Salem for most of my life. I skiied for 4 years, but now I've switched to snowboarding for the past few of years. I've been to all the ski resorts in Boone a number of times, and while they all have different things to offer, I would have to say Sugar Mtn. is my least favorite. They have the highest rates, and because poor slope conditions, I've injured myself there. Beech has the best snow & special rates during the week, Hawksnest is the least crowded & the restuarant on the top floor of the lodge has awesome views, and Appalachian gives free lift tickets opening day. I would have to say Hawksnest is my fav because you don't have to deal with all the tourists. Although no matter what resort you choose, this time of year is not a good one to go. I went to Appalachian on Wednesday and it sucked. I suggest waiting until January when the slopes are better.
