Suggestions on How to Keep Busy During Pregnancy Bed Rest

There are times that a mom to be, may be ordered to undergo a pregnancy bed rest. This can be frustrating even in the best of circumstances. The other problem is that quite often to can end up for being quite a lengthy time. To help you through this not so pleasant time here are a few suggestions to help you conquer your pregnancy bed rest period.

Suggestion #1:

If you are a working woman, then you are probably a little upset at having to be off work if you are not on maternity leave. See if there is some type of work you could continue to do while you are in bed. It may only take a lap top computer and you could do some typing or correspondence for the company from home.

Suggestion #2:

If you have school age children then you will be quite capable of helping and overseeing their homework from your pregnancy bed rest location, much to their dismay. If you don't have young children then perhaps you could do a little bit of tutoring for a friend or neighbors child.

Suggestion #3:

Make your pregnancy bed rest work to your advantage. There must be something that you have been wishing you could just get some free time to do. Perhaps write some letters or read a book.

Suggest #4:

When all else fails there is the television or movies. Don't make this a habit, because you will soon get bored of it, and then you will tend to become restless.

Suggestion #5:

Start at least two hobbies. So you can interchange them. This again prevents the boredom from setting in.

Suggestion #6:

Perhaps you have been thinking about doing something creative like writing a newsletter, or a children's book for example. Now is the perfect time to do it.

Suggestion #7:

If you have access to a laptop computer then this is the perfect time to take advantage of it. If you don't have one, you may want to consider renting one for the period of time you are going to be on pregnancy bed rest. You can divide your time on it. Spend some time playing some of the many free games that are available on it. Or maybe doing some research on something you have been interested in.

Suggestion #8:

Plan family theme nights. This will keep you interacted with your family, and will also give them confidence that everything is going to be fine. You could have a movie night, a games night and spend some time coming up with some other innovative ideas.

Suggestion #9:

Stay in touch with your friends. This is a wonderful time to spend some time in conversation which you just haven't found any time for.

Suggestion #10:

Diversify your time. Plan your day. This may sound a little strange but you will actually find it enjoyable. Do each of the 9 suggestions that we have outlined here, and before you know it you will be saying there just isn't enough time in the day to do everything I planned. Remember the most important thing though your pregnancy bed rest is the rest you are suppose to be getting.
