Many individuals have a desire to write a screen play. The trick to writing a successful screen play is getting it recognized. This article will give you some helpful suggestions for writing your screen play.

Idea & Story Telling
A written screen play is a combination of an idea and a story. First, briefly write what your idea and story is about. Don't get too detailed. You will expand on your theme over time. However, it is important to get things down on paper.

Join a Writing Workshop
If you have never written a screen play, you need to sign up for a writing workshop. Zoetrope that is managed by Francis Ford Coppola is an ideal place to begin. Coppola wrote the Godfather screen plays.

Screen Play Development
You need to learn about character building, building plots, shaping scenes and sharpening dialogue. Eventually, each of these areas will have to be refined with great detail.

Software
You might want to consider purchasing some software to help you with the progression of your screen play. Final Draft is a good place to start. This software will help you with formatting your work.

Final Product
When you have proof read and changed things inside your script. you need to have your screen play read by others. Have them make notes on your screen play. Have them refer to the scene, act and character development. Keep yourself open for positive criticism.

Now you are ready to move your product to a professional. This is when it can get to be frustrating. Screen play readers are a dime a dozen. There are companies that will read and charge you for your work. Some claim 24 to 72 hour turnarounds. Do your research. Take your time and find a professional that has had successful experience. This could cost you quite a bit. However, if you think your script is good, then it will worth your cost. A professional reader might also give you some tips on getting your screen play to a producer.

Can You Succeed?
Despite everything you have to go through, sometimes persistence pays off. Good ideas and screen plays come from everywhere. Sylvester Stallone wrote, produced and starred in Rocky. He began it all with a written script.
