How can they Do It?
A $10 wash and set by professionals? How can they do it? They do it through volume and their organization. There is a system and the system works. Think of it as kind of an assembly line more than a black hair salon.
Another way costs are kept low is that the services are set up ala cart. A wash and set is $10. If you want a trim, that will be an additional $5. Deep condition?Add another $5. This allows you to get what you want without paying for the extras that you could do without.
Appointments
No appointments. Walk-ins only on a first come - first served basis.
What to Expect
When you first enter the salon, you'll be given a form to complete and a colored ticket. The colored ticket will have what services you want circled. It will also have the name of the requested stylist. You then sit in a nice waiting room with a television until a shampoo technician comes to get you. You give the slip to the shampoo tech.
After your hair is washed, you sit in a room with your wet hair under a shower cap until it is your turn to be served. You can request a stylist. Requesting a stylist, however, will cause a longer wait.
If you're getting a relaxer touch-up, you go straight to the stylists' room to wait your turn. The $30 for a touch-up comes with a deep conditioning treatment. You leave with your hair wrapped. If you want a style, that is an extra $10.
The Atmosphere
It was quiet and professional. Soft, gospel music played in the background. The receptionists were friendly.
Best Times to Go
Avoid Saturdays at all costs if you want a touch-up. The best day is Tuesday. The salon is open every day of the week. You should be able to find a time to suit you. Both times my mom had a wash and set during the week, she was done within an hour
Parking
Ample parking is behind the salon.
Impressions
I tried Suite 20 on the recommendation of my mom. I went in for a touch-up on a Saturday and left three hours later. I take total responsibility for having such a long wait. What was I thinking going to a black hair salon on a Saturday morning?
Also, it appeared that the owner was steering clients who wanted touch-ups to certain stylists thereby increasing the wait. My suspicion is that he wanted the more experience stylists to handle the chemicals for new clients. Smart business decision.
I didn't mind waiting because the stylist did an excellent job at a cut rate price! I will definitely be back and next time on a Tuesday!

Post a CommentI went on today 8/25/2011 took my daughter. It was a lovely experience. The atmosphere was nice and calm and CLEAN (that's very important to me). My daughter was very pleased with her service as well. Since I am off on Thurs I will make this a weekly event for us. $18.(both) tips& $8- 2 to shampoo girl and 2 to stylist. That is less than $30 for 2 ppl. OMG where has this shop been since I have been in GA.
Going in today.. They have a special on Thur 3pm - 8pm $8 Wash and set....OM...I will definitely try it @ this price....Will come back to say how it went
All Creations Salon 976 Main St.locatetd in Stone Mountain Ga is a great place. Sonya is the stylist that does my hair. She's patient and creative. She does hair of all races . The salon has referral benefits and prepay specials which works well for me. They're also open on Monday's. I like the fact I'm not sitting waiting to be helped appts are pretty much true to schedule. No hidden fees will quote you before service is started. She promotes healthy hair and if your hair isn't in a condition that can support the service she'll tell you not just take your money by adding it to your ticket. She does my granddaughter's hair too. She's great with kids and with styling them. Call her 678-994-5881 hope this helps you!
mrty; If they are not the best of salons, why would you go. Money or not, go to the best if you are not happy. I love there service and I challenge anyone to name a better salon where you get professional products and services for their price.
WTH? I dont know what type of products your salon uses but they use Nairobi Shampoo and produts. I have long hair and it always comes out clean and silky. Maybe, you just got that bush woman hair from the motherland that's not train. Dont knock them because of your hair. They service over a 100 clients a day so they must be doing something right. 100 to 1. Those are good odds. You do the math.
suite 20 is straight not the best of salons but when money is low you can't complain.......i would just recommend better customer service...
if you ever go to suite 20 heres some tips get there early and request cassandra she is an excellent stylist and my hair was looking amazing afterwords.
I read some good reviews, but this place was horrible. My hair was better when I walked in to get it washed. The shampoo girl didn't fully wet my hair before she put the shampoo in so it didn't lather right. They use products that i'm not very fond of and I know I wouldn't find it in my regular salon. After my roller set my hair felt extremely thick and greasy and she couldn't get a brush through my hair. I drove straight home from there and had to do it myself....waste of time. For $10 it was worth a try, but I'll continue traveling to Tucker to my slightly over-priced salon where my mind will be at peace because I KNOW i'll leave with my hair silky, flowing, healthy and long. They acted like I had soooo much hair; I have a lot, but it's manageable. I think they were just lazy. NEVER AGAIN.
I have been going for about a year now and my hair has never been healthier. From the receptionist to the shampoo person to the hair stylist, everyone there is great, I go every Friday. I have never gotten more compliments on my hair styles. I am 95% grey and they do a wonderful job keeping it that nice white color I love. Big thumbs up too "the home of the 10 dollar do."
I must say that when I read the review on this salon it influenced me to go and try it out. Well I did and this is what I found: I came in for a relaxer, was told to sit on the right and given my number, I sat on my right and was told after about 30 minutes I needed to sit on their right( ummm) every number after mine was called back so I figure it must be because I was getting a relaxer and that takes some experience and time so I must be waiting on a stylist with chemical experience to open up. No problem I'm patient and I want it done right and safe so I'll wait. I finally get to a chair and get my relaxer. when it's all said and done I've been there 3 hours. Customers (potential clients)seemed as confussed as I was about the order and seating, even the ones that had been before. Suggestions: orient the customers especially first time customers, customer service is important to me and I'm sure it was to the 25 others sitting in the waiting area and having the stylists cursing about
