Summer 2010 Makeup Look: Sun-kissed

Look Glowing, Not Orange

Summer is the time of year where many people hit the beach to tan, or hit the tanning beds and salons to look tan before hitting the beach or lake. Needless to say, almost everyone wants to put their best tan forward this season, so I've put together a makeup look that's affordable, easy and light, perfect for the beach and hot summer sun. You'll look like a goddess, and not a walking Cheeto.

For this look I used Cover Girl's Smoky Shadow Blast in 'Bronze Fire,' Cover Girl's Cheekers Bronzer in #104'Golden Tan,' Cover Girl's Lash Blast Lux mascara in 'Black Royale,' E.L.F's Brightening Eye Liner in 'Gilded,' and E.L.F's Luscious Liquid lipstick in 'Baby Lips.' Before I do anything I always apply an SPF moisturizer. One I use on a regular basis is Neutrogena's Visibly Even. Then I do any cover-ups that I need, but generally I just try to avoid anything heavy because of the summer heat. But don't forget to primer your eyes.

This look is very simple, and very quick to pull together. I didn't spend more than five minutes applying everything. First off, I started with my eyes. I used Cover Girl's Smoky Shadow Blast in 'Bronze Fire.' I love this product because it makes every so much easier and quicker, no brush needed. I applied the lighter shade, side one, all along my eyelids and blended it with my ring finger. Then I turned it around and applied the darker shade, side two, along my lash line and creases. Next, I applied a few coats of Cover Girl's Lash Blast Lux mascara in 'Black Royale' and finished off my eyes by applying E.L.F's Brightening Eye Liner in 'Glided' to my waterline.

For the rest of my face I used only one product, Cover Girl's Cheekers Bronzer in #104, 'Golden Tan.' No powders, no blushes, just the bronzer. I used the brush that came with it to apply it along the bridge of my nose, just a sweep. I then used a bronzer brush to apply the bronzer along the hallows of my cheeks, just a sweep at my chin, and along my temples. I finished off this look by applying a coat of E.L.F's Luscious Liquid lipstick in 'Baby Lips.' Every single product that I used to achieve this look is affordable.

No matter what your plans are for this summer, always remember to use sun protection products, and use them properly. Skin cancer is not beautiful.
