Summer 2010 Trend: The Blouse
The blouse is a versatile garment that can dress-up any look from a straight skirt to a pair of jeans. The summer blouse is a lightweight, almost sheer top that comes with feminine frills such as ruffles and romantic sleeves. Colors for the summer blouse will be pale pastels and whites that require either a matching or neutral color bra/camisole.
Summer 2010 Plus Size Blouses
Plus sizes do not have to sweat it out in the office for summer 2010. Pretty blouses in a wide range of colors are offered this summer at such plus size retailers as The Avenue, Lane Bryant, Jessica London and Roaman's.
Roaman's sells two pretty summer blouses that will carry you from work to a casual evening out. First is the "Allie" V-neck blouse with lace trim and flutter 3/4 sleeves by denim 24/7®. "Allie" comes in two colors (Dusty Mauve and Latte) and one floral print (Vanilla Print). Sizes range from 12W - 32W and regularly priced between $49.99 and $54.99.
The second business casual summer blouse sold at Roaman's is the "Blanca" ruffle blouse. This lovely blouse has a ruffled V-neck with center, button loop closures and asymmetrical hem and sleeves. Colors are Ivory (ideal for summer), Chartreuse, Black, Brown Sugar and Maple Red. Sizes range from 14W to 32W and regularly priced between $39.99 and $44.99.
Misses Summer 2010 Blouses
This summer there are plenty of blouses on sale at various retailers. Unfortunately, very few of these blouses are summer ready with heavy, dark graphic prints that will absorb heat making you hotter. Do not worry ladies you are in luck.
Macy's sells perhaps the perfect summer blouse that is ideal for office attire, happy hour and casual weekend fun. Lauren Jeans Co. Blouse, Kesi Tole Printed for $79.50 is the blouse to invest in. This cotton blouse has a deep ruffled v-neck with a self-tie sash. It buttons down the center with faux mother-of-pearl button and short ruffled sleeves. Sizes range from Ralph Lauren's small to extra large (sorry ladies no size chart available).
These summer blouses will fit in with your summer business casual wardrobe. Fabrics that work well are semi-sheer fabrics like georgette in light colors and floral prints. If ruffles are not your thing, there are plenty of blouses available without them. Look around at your favorite retail store or find one online that suits your style and existing wardrobe. While the summer blouse is fashion trend for 2010, it is a classic and a must-have for business casual attire every year.

Post a Commentgreat information and style.
They are cool and romantic!
Thanks for adding the plus sizes. So often, the selection of plus size clothing is decidedly unfashionable. Pretty stupid considering the fact that there are a larger percentage of overweight people in America than ideal or underweight people. Guess the fashion world falls a bit short when it comes to supply and demand.
I have several blouses and could not live without them. I work from home so my dress code is pajama casual lol, but when I got to doc's appointments, meetings, or out with friends I love wearing a pair of dark blue jeans, a light-colored blouse, and some great heels. A blouse works for everything from lunch with the girls, to a wedding.
They are pretty this season. However, the style of blouse that is fashion is at pretty high prices for misses sizes which is sad. I already own a few of the "Blanca" blouses from Roamans, I love the one I have in Pink!
I guess I better buy a summer blouse soon!
