I am so happy about our unborn child
It's hot this summer night, as usual and
Although tragedy will ensue, I will be cool.
It's a hot August day in L.A. and my husband is away;
But, its okay my friends can stay.
Although it's very late on this date;
I love our home on the hills of Cielo Drive.
What I do not know is that my life will be deprived.
As I am still in the night I do not fright, as my child will soon arrive.
Our baby was to be born soon, but alas tragedy has ensued.
My friends are surprised by some girls and a guy who came-by
With daggers of death at their side;
Spreading evil like chills of freezing ice
Spilling all life; including mine.
I was beauty, wealthy, 25 and with child.
But, I'm dead now along with my unborn son.
Their mission was only to insult the PIG whose name was
inscribed on my door with my last blood of life.
I was Sharon Tate, remember me and our son, who was to be born in September 1969.
The girls were to pay the ultimate price for their crimes; For the life they took was mine.
But alas a revise in the penalty phase was changed in 72, Where now their sentence remains life in prison.
It's true parole is always a plea and some day they may roam free.
So, please remember me. Summer of 69

Post a CommentGreat poem! The savagery and horror of that night means it will never be forgotten. But I remember Sharon Tate as the gifted actress (she could have devleoped into quite the comediene -- see THE WRECKING CREW), not as the symbol of the American Dream gone haywire in the Summer of 69.
Sharon Tate Polanski who was 8 1/2 months pregnant was killed by the manson family on August 9th 1969.
