Robert Getz
There may be snow on the ground, but it's not too early to start thinking about summer, especially if you have kids that are more adventurous than most. There are lots of places for these kids to go during the summer, and have enough fun to keep them busy for days. Summer camp is a lot more fun than it used to be, especially if you pick one that is suited to your kid's particular loves. Have a kid that wants to climb mountains, hike through the woods, and go kayaking? There are camps all over the country that are just for them. Here is a short list of some of them as well as where to find more information on them.

For those who want a great outdoors adventure and a little more try Deer Hill Expeditions at www.deerhillexpeditions.com. Not only do they offer great outdoor adventures in the southwestern states areas, they also include some interesting extras. Your kids will enjoy activities such as mountain climbing, hiking and white water rafting in the great outdoors. Along with this they will get the chance to give back by performing community services at the same time, by learning to help maintain trails and work in the garden. At some of the camps they will interact with Native Americans and learn about, as well as participate in, some of the ceremonies and customs. Contact them through their website or call 1-800-533-7221.

Adventure Treks offers a wide variety of programs in several areas of the western parts of the U.S. and Canada. Your kids will make new friends, and want to come back again as they enjoy a range of activities that include sailing, kayaking, rock climbing and mountain biking to name just a few. Their programs are designed to foster a love of the outdoors in kids, and teach them leadership skills that will help them get a great start in life. Very nice suggestions! Your children must really love you! I can not think of anything better than experiencing something "life changing" such as climbing a mountain or so on during the summer.
