Laura Ewers
It's summer and finally warm; however it can't be perfect weather everyday so here is a guide to summer activities that can be done on those not so perfect days.

Rain Painting

This is really very easy. All you need is paper and food coloring and something to hold the paper like a pie pan or cardboard box.

Put a few drops of food coloring on a piece of paper any colors you want. Then put on rain coats and head out. Stand in the rain and watch as the splashes make beautiful pictures right before your eyes!

Sun Catchers

This is great to make and usually when you are done the sun comes back out.

All you need is...

crayons (paper removed)

wax paper

iron

vegetable peeler

string

hole punch

shave the crayons and place them on the wax paper. Then place another piece of wax paper on top. Have an adult rub an iron on low heat over the crayon pieces till they melt together. Allow to cool then punch a hole in it using the hole punch and place on string and hang up.

A Nature Printed T-Shirt

create a cool looking shirt you can wear anywhere.

all you need is

solid colored shirt (any color but pink, white, yellow work best )

fabric paint

assorted nature objects (leaves, flowers, sticks, ect.)

dip objects in paint and place on the shirt. Remove objects very carefully. You will get amazing prints. Allow to dry then wash inside out on gentle with cold water. Air dry or dry on low heat.
* also try using shaped sponges, or pipe cleaners bent into shapes. Maybe even items collected on trips to make a trip themed shirt like beach items. Have fun and experiment.

Mirror Personalities

All you need is
