It is important for a child to experience new things and meet new kids. At his age, he is most likely energetic and wants to play. What better place than at camp? They are specifically tailored to meet those needs.
Near Terre Haute, IN, there are several camps to choose from. Ranging from arts and crafts to sports, you will surely find the right one for your child.
Deming Park
In the summer of 2010, Deming Park will be offering day camps per week. According to the City of Terre Haute Government website, this schedule is available.
Week 1- June 7-11
Week 2- June 14-18
Week 3- June 21-25
Week 4- June 28-July 2
Week 5- July 5-9
Week 6- July 12-16
Week 7- July 19-23
Week 8- July 26-30
Week 9- August 2-6
Week 10- August 9-13
Grand Slam- August 16
The drop-off time is 7:30am and pick-up is at 5:30pm. There are two camps being offered y the park, the Craft Group and a Sports Group. Each group focuses on different things. The Craft Group focuses on arts and crafts, learning how to work well with others, and creative games. The Sports Group focuses on sport fundamentals and teamwork. The Craft Group is for youngsters in the age range of 5-12 and the Sports Group is for youngsters in the 7-12 years age range. The fees are $50.00 per week and $10.00 for the one day of Grand Slam. There is a 10% discount for those that register five or more weeks. Of course there is additional fees for late registration as early registration is required. The fee for late registration is $5.00 per day. There is also a fee for late pick-ups. It is $5.00 per every 15 minutes.

Indiana State Police Summer Camps
For something a bit different this summer, you might look toward the 2010 Indiana State Police Summer Camp. These youth camps are offered for children in grades five through twelve. There are more than 1500 children annually that participate in this one-of-a-kind experience. The children learn teamwork skills while developing self-confidence. The police department teach children that discipline is the number one pre-requisite gaining self-respect and self-respect leads to gaining the respect of others. This is the list for 2010 camps.
