Summer Camps for Girls in PA

Lami Eyer
Come April, it is the time of the year when parents have to finalize their choice of a summer camp and decide where to send their kids and teens. Summer camps provide an opportunity for children to develop culturally, emotionally and intellectually and explore new friendships and interests.

It is important to pick a summer camp to suit your child's mental makeup and tastes. The expenses must also meet your budget and the duration of the camp
must be just right so your child is neither homesick nor longing to stay back. If you have a daughter and are looking for a summer camp in and around Pennsylvania, you must check out the following options. If you would like to register, look up their websites (hyperlinks are provided) for online forms.

Camp Cayuga is a coed residential camp for children between 5-15 years of age. The camp is in the scenic Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania and offers 60 activities including horseback riding, trapeze & circus, performing arts, ceramics, rock climbing, zip line, ATVs, scuba diving, etc. and fun trips to Busch Gardens, Niagara Falls, Hershey Amusement Park, etc. They have 2,4,6 week sessions and a full season session between June end and early August. In 2008, their tuition starts at $1,675 for a 2 week session and goes to $6,800 for a full session.

I have a 9 year old niece who attended this camp in 2007 and was delighted with her experience. She liked the the art and sports activities and is very fond of her instructors. She has again registered to attend this year's summer camp with Camp Cayuga.
