Canoe Island French Camp is a coed camp for kids ages 9 to 16 years old. It's located in Canoe Island, Washington. The cost per week is between $650 and $1000. This camp mixes French language, culture and cuisine with outdoor activities with a French flair. You don't have to speak French, or be French, to attend. The games you'll play with teach you the basics of speaking French, and those who already have a knowledge of the language will put on skits and plays to further teach beginners the basics of French. Camp Nor'Wester is a coed camp for kids ages 9 to 16 years old. It's located in Roche Harbor, Washington. The cost per week is between $650 and $1000. The focus of this camp is to get kids outside and away from technology where they can appreciate the rewards of challenging themselves. The camp is set up in a minimalist style to expose campers to a more basic way of living. They use out house toilets, build wood fires to heat water for showers, lives in tents, build tarp shelters, etc. Campers can enjoy traditional camp activies such as arts and crafts, drama, archery, and ropes course, with lots of outdoor things like sailing, kayaking, hiking and overnight camping trips. No matter which type of camp you choose for your kids, be sure to take the time to visit the camp and ask a lot of questions of the staff, counselors, and former camp attendees if possible. Most of all, let your kids be part of the decision making process since they are the ones who will be spending their time there.
