If your little one is showing interest in crafts or art, then the following classes may benefit both you and your preschooler. Please see below for the class schedule and fees: (from the Sunnyvale website cited in sources)
Storytime Art for Preschoolers (2-5years)
In this class, you sit with your child and listen to a new story every class. After the story, the crafts begin. The child learns how to incorporate the story into a new craft. A $10 non-returnable supply fee is due the first day to help pay for all the great materials your little one will be introduced to. Your child must be able to sit still for four minutes during the story. They ask for you to only bring the registered kids to class.

There are classes for kids in the middle, too. This next set of classes focuses on the older child, ages 9-14, and also includes kids as young as 5. These are both parent and child pottery classes that are also held at the Creative Arts Center in Sunnyvale. If you or your child has ever wanted to take an introductory class to pottery making, then take a look below at the schedule of classes to find one that fits your summer plans.
Wheelthrowing: Parent & Child (9-13years)
This is a great class for both parents and older kids to enjoy, together, the art of pottery making. They will go through the steps from beginning clay work with the wheel to firing and glazing. There is no materials fee, but the clay is $12 a bag, per child. If you like to get your hands dirty, then this is perfect for you.

This is another great pottery class for parents and kids. In this class, the parent can have more than one registered child with them, but as with all the other classes, unregistered children cannot attend. This class will teach you how to create and build projects by hand and not by wheel. Wheelthrowing and high-fire glazing are not included in this class.

Kids will learn how to make wonderful projects that are not harmful to the environment by using recycled and organic materials. As a bonus, the kids get to bring a non-working small appliance to turn into a 'wacky animal'. There is a non refundable $15 supplies fee due at the first class.

Sounds fun and a great way to develop the child's social and artistic habits.
Great work!
Great ideas for the summer. I just might create my own art classes - being a seasoned artist at this time in my life.
Wonderful things for grandchildren to learn.
