Summer Ending

April Higney
North, South, East, and West,

the sun moves in,

an equilateral crossing,

ready for Winter Solstice to begin.

Late September,

balanced time in day and night.

Poles aligned as the sun submerges,

upon the Stonehenge sight.

The heat of summer ending,

in one beautiful hemisphere.

Leaves begin to fall

as a slight chill of the coming snow settles in the atmosphere.

An invisible line drawn in the horizon,

as Autumnal Equinox takes place,

moving through our universe, seasons changing,

balancing time in weatherly space.
