Silver Dollar City offers mild, moderate, and high thrill attractions. Mild thrill attractions include Flooded Mine and Grandfather's Mansion. The Flooded Mine offers a dark ride with loud noises and flashing lights. Grandfather's Mansion offers slanting floors, steps, and disorienting conditions. Moderate thrill attractions include American Plunge and The Great Exposition Coaster. The American Plunge is a wet ride that offers a 50-foot drop reaching speeds of 35mph. The Great Exposition Coaster reaches heights up to 25 feet, sharp turns, and moderate drops at speeds up to 20 mph. High thrill attractions include Fire In The Hole, my personal favorite, and Wildfire. Fire In The Hole is a coaster ride in the dark with surprising turns and drops an added surprise. On the Wildfire, you will undergo a 155-foot drop, five inversions, and speeds up to 66 mph.
Silver Dollar City offers disabled parking, restrooms in three locations, and electric cart and wheelchair rental. The first aid station is staffed with medical personnel, and if you take medications that need refrigeration, you can take them to the first aid station.
Silver Dollar City offers a map that you can pick up upon arrival to navigate through the large park. Directions to Silver Dollar City are offered on their website. All the information you could possibly need is located on Silver Dollar City's website including hotels, event dates, and special pricing packages. You can even build your trip by adding rides and shows you want to visit while you are there. Silver Dollar City offers over 40 live shows daily. You can also watch craftsmen as they demonstrate their skills. There is something for everyone with a master candle maker, baker, master glass cutter, blacksmith, senior potter, and many more. With 60 unique shops offering a range of products from photography to jewelry to toys, you will find an endless list of things to do. I recommend you check it out.
Silver Dollar City will be having a Bluegrass and BBQ Festival from May 12 - June 3, 2007. There will be a National Kids' Fest June 9 - August 12, 2007. Both will be open seven days a week. The Bluegrass and BBQ Festival offers 23 days of music and BBQ. Ricky Skaggs will be performing in a special concert on May 27, 2007. The House of BBQ serves sauces from across the nation. The National Kids' Fest includes circus acts on ice, dogs vs. gymnast competition, a basketball show that is entertaining for all ages, an interactive barn where kids can have hands-on fun, banana-split eating contest, and more.
