Summer and Fall Trends for 2007

Although it sounds like a horrible war between nations out of a textbook it's actually something much more fun and with hopefully, alot less casualties. Upon reviewing several of the most recent runway items from names such as Marc Jacobs and Luis Vuitton, it is obvious that the Summer is setting in upon us and with it is coming a flourish of colour for some, and yet for others, it will bring us back to a time when simplicity was synonomous with beauty.

A Look at Summer 2007

The way its looking Summer sun isn't the only thing thats going to be bringing some sunlight into our lives. Hot off the high-end runways comes colors and accessories that will make you wonder if we ourselves are'nt turning solar powered.

Get your shine on:

Purses, jewelry, clutches, shoes. If it shines then this is the time for it. One of Summers hottest trends being spotted as early as late Spring is expected to be metallic shades of silver, copper, bronze and gold. Now don't confuse this idea with sequins and go buy another ten of those dangly disasterous purses. This season calls for classy, chic metallic looks that accompnay soft tan and putty hues that are ultra feminine and are being spotted across the runway. Adding a simple shine to any toned down wardrobe with colours such as these are sure to bring attention to a beautiful Spring manicure as it clutches.. well, your clutch. Or perhaps the subtle copper coloured straps of your wedge sandles which bring attention to the length they bring to your legs under your knee length khaki couloured skirt; cinched at the waist with a rich brown belt and off-white blouse with a subtle lace. However you choose to pair it, the shine it will bring into your life is sure to make you stand out next to the other black and jewel toned purses that arent expected to hit trend heights until late this Winter.

Trend #2 for the Summer is the wonderful acid laden colour of bright yellow, along with some other similar styles being in a more muted elegant yellow. It's been said to be the "contemporary answer to statement dressing" from Vogue critics. Not only have we noticed just the yellow, but also neon blues and even a few oranges showing up under very strong solid colours such as a lightweight black V neck dress that drops low enough to show the burst of colour like a neon flower in bloom. Play gently though girls and use in moderation. Either go all the way with a piece completly consumed by the color or show a subtle peek of it under a dark blouse or lightweight jacket.

Yin and Yang in Summer Harmony

In almost direct oposition from the hot neon trends that are going to be spotted througout the summer, get ready for bold and playful prints in two colors that are simple and classic beautiful; black and white. Stripes, flowers, squares and plenty of abstract fun, the summer holds for us who are a tad conservative, a chance to stand out and feel at home in feminine shapes with a chic, timeless look that suits every frame. With such busy prints and the eye constantly moving it is hard to be unsatisfied with any of the peices from a line like this. If your going to go for the monchrome print its best to do it in one piece. A knee length dress of stripes, a ankle length gown of rich abstract design. The feelings created by this look are that patterns alone, and not necessarily colours of colours can lend almost single handedly to a peice that looks absolutley stunning for this season.

The Accessory: Cinched and High Waists

If I had to put money on it, it would be that this season is especially mentionable for the fact that it can suit every woman of every figure. The designers got it right this time showcasing waist cinching tops and belts along with long skinny leg slacks from the waist. With designs like this there is an answer to the trend question for those of us long legged beauties as well as those of us with the dangerous curves. Continue to invest in items for around your waist that are, modest, yet make a statement against toned down tunics. Also be sure to find a great fit my long legged queens for the pant thats making runways for the rest of the year. These slacks will accentuate your hip figure even if you are small in the area and give you a striking sillouhette and a effortless hourglass figure.
