Summer Fashion Trends for 2007

The weather is getting warmer and the sun's feeling hotter. If you haven't already, it's time to start thinking about revamping your summer wardrobe. We're well into spring and as the grass gets greener and the trees start blossoming to life it's time for you to blossom into the trendy lady you know you are.

I love spring and summer. I love to open the windows and freshen up the air that becomes stale with winter furnace air. I love to watch the tulips bloom and the tree buds burst forth. It's a time of renewal. Renewing your wardrobe for this upcoming summer can be easy with a few simple steps. Read on and blossom like a beautiful flower this summer in the latest 2007 fashion trends.

Put away the heavy, drab winter clothes. It's time to get light and bright. Think brilliant white. Shirt dresses are in. Accessorize with a belt and some pumps, and you will be very stylish.

The romantic look is a beautifully feminine look. Think lots of white. A linen dress with embroidery or a crisp white cotton dress with subtle detailing will have you looking innocent and girly. Sleeves and hemlines will compliment this season's look.

The futuristic look will be the new retro look of this spring and summer. Metalics in silver and gold shimmer will suit this look nicely. You need to be cautious that the shimmer you wear doesn't highlight the areas on you that need to be played down.

High-waist shorts, skirts, or trousers will be fashionable this season. High heels compliment this outfit best. Sometimes a high waist can accentuate our bumps and lumps. Try adding a large belt and watch those lumps disappear.

That 60's influence two-tone look is coming back big for 2007. We're going to see over-sized blooms and stripes. Get brave and try on the bold prints and graphic silhouettes that are popular this season. Classic black and white is still in. This season, try to give your black and white outfit some pizzazz by adding a bright flash of color like yellow or red. The shorter the skirt, the better in this style, but only if you can get away with it. These minis can be worn over jeans or with leggings if you are very modest. When wearing bold clothing, be careful not to over-accessorize.

Big, loose-fitting separates and dresses are in. Adding a belt to this baggy look is great for evening. This look is a little 'bath robe and sloppy' to me, but many women can get away with it. Accessorizing is the key to pull off this look; perhaps a hat or chunky bracelet. I may even try it.

Getting sporty will be in this season. In order to keep this look sophisticated, look for silks and satins. This look is influenced from the 80's, but refrain from buying nylon fabrics. No leg warmers allowed. This look is complimented by wearing heels. A white tank paired with satiny leggings that come just below the knee along with a bright, long jacket is one way to accomplish this look. The result is modern and sporty.

It's time to freshen up that summer wardrobe as we move into summer 2007. Follow these simple guidelines and you will be in style. Have fun, be creative, and shine this season in these great looks.
