If you have a special affection for this unique genre of American music, then you are in luck because you can celebrate with other fans at the Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival in Sedalia, Missouri, taking place this May 30 - June 3, 2007. The National Kids' Fest at Silver Dollar City in Branson takes place this year from June 9th through August 12th. In celebration of the Summer Solstice, and intended to promote peace and harmony amongst all of earth's creatures, the CommUnity Peace Festival in Eldrige is a timely and community-minded event. At the Bird Island Campitheater from June 21st - 25th, join like-minded people along the Niangua River for camping and music from rock to reggae. Trails West in St. Joseph hosts Grand Funk Railroad, Craig Morgan, and more on several stages this year. The August 17th through 19th event honors St. Joseph's heritage with folk art, crafts, children's activities, demonstrations, and food. Over one hundred ethnic organizations will be on hand to help promote the message of understanding amongst the growing ethnic community at the Festival of Nations in St. Louis, happening this year on August 25th and 26th. Diversity will be honored through the sharing of food, music, folk art, and dance from many different cultures. Most of the festival's performers are from the St. Louis immigrant population, and will offer selections that exhibit their cultural background.
