If musicals aren't your thing but concerts are, Starlight is also infamous for hosting several concerts during the summer, one of the hottest this year being local radio station Mix 93.3's 'Red, White, and Boom', presented by Taco Bell. On July 6, 2010 starting at 4:30, be prepared to be blown away by your favorite bands such as Barenaked Ladies, Counting Crows, Kris Allen, Augustana, Angel Taylor and more! Stop and smile for a quick photo, it's going to be a great day at Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun! Thrillseekers and families alike will enjoy these two must-visit destinations. With fantastic roller coasters like the 'Mamba', 'Prowler', and 'Patriot', how can you not have fun? Don't worry about the little ones, they'll have a blast with everyone's favorite beagle and his friends in Camp Snoopy! Need to cool off after a hot day at Worlds of Fun? No problem, the parks make it easy to maneuver between both parks with either Ride & Slide admission tickets for a one-day visit, or one of their many different Season Pass offers. Worlds of Fun has a ton of extra events planned during the summer, visit their website for more information on their events, rides, and pricing.

You may be more interested in the adult scene, and if so then Kansas City's Power & Light District is probably where you'll want to be headed. The Power & Light District has over 50 retail stores, restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues! If you're a late night cat, you'll probably be glad to know that most bars are open until 3 a.m.! (But be smart, and please don't drink and drive!) The standards here a little higher than your average shop and dine centers in regards to dress code and age, so check the website (located to the right) for details on specific events and locations.

Don't have that much money? No problem, the AMC Theatre located in Independence, Missouri has $5.00 movies on Mondays-Thursdays, no matter what you're in the mood to see! So if opening night isn't a 'must-see' for you then take advantage of the half-price tickets the following week!

As you can see, Kansas City isn't as plain or boring as you might have initially thought! There's plenty of exciting and new things to do here for you and your friends and family, so get out there and go have some fun!
