With Memorial Weekend winding down, summer is just around the corner! Lazy days in the sun sounds like a good time, but at the end of the day dry, brittle straw like hair is anything but fun! Try one of the following products to help prevent or repair summertime damage.

Pantene Pro-V Damage Defender Spray

This is a lightweight misting spray that you work into your hair as part of your daily beauty regimen. Spray it in wet hair and comb through to spread it evenly through each strand. It forms a protective layer around each strand to protect it from daily styling and environmental elements.

Pro: Lightweight and smells good.

Cons: Its another step in an already busy morning. Coating of strands may result in a product build up which may make hair limp an dull. Best if used with a clarifying shampoo.

Organix Tea Tree Mint Hydrating Treatment

This is a hydrating treatment that using milk proteins, peppermint oil, and Australian Tea Tree Oil to renew and rehydrate your hair. Thoroughly saturate your hair and leave in, the longer the better, before rinsing it out.

Pros: At $6.99, it really is an affordable option (and organic too!). Also, being a treatment its a "once in a while" not an every day must do.

Cons: Not very helpful at preventing damage, but great at fixing what problems do occur.

VO5 Daily Hair Recovery

This is a deep-penetrating conditioner that replaces your daily conditioner. After shampooing work it into your hair and leave on for 1 to 3 minutes while you finish the rest of your shower routine.

Pros: Ridiculously affordable, and since it replaces your conditioner, it is not an extra step in the morning.

Cons: Doesn't leave hair as soft and shiny as other more expensive products.

Kerastase Paris Voile Protectuer

This is a light mist that you spray in your hair before and during exposure to sun. This product is from Step 1: Protect of the Sun Exposed hair care line.

Pros: Works like a dream, and being able to use only when you are going to be in the sun prevents product build up.

Cons: At $34.00 for 100ml, it is quite an expensive preventative action.

Sunsilk Hydra TLC 24/7

This is a deep conditioning treatment that you work into hair, wait and rinse out. It is part of the Hydra TLC line by Sunsilk (Its the pink line) It also has a shampoo, conditioner, and serum.

Pros: Works well, and is moderately priced.

Cons: The container it comes with can be more difficult to handle than a regular squeeze bottle.

Fredric Fekkai RX Reparative Spray

Very fine mist spray that is enriched with soy and milk proteins.It strengthening and re-hydrates dry damaged hair, but is gentle enough to used on color treated hair.

Pros: Sold at Bath and Body Shops so its convenient. Also, the spray bottle makes it very easy to apply.

Cons: Extra step in your routine (but an easy one!). Also, it is a little on the expensive end and will set you back $19.50 for a bottle containing 4 fluid ounces.

Garnier Deep Moisturizer for Dry or Damaged Hair

Super thick cream that you work into hair after normal shampooing and conditioning. Leave on hair, the longer the better, and then rinse out.

Pros: Smells great, does leave hair silky and is affordable

Cons: The container is convenient for removing the product but does seem to get very messy and slippery. Like a lot of other products, the Garnier is an extra step in the morning
