Washing Frizzy Hair to Get Smooth Locks:
Clean hair is more prone to frizz than slightly oily or dirty hair so in the summer time, when humidity is high it may be a better option to reduce washing to every other day or even every couple days. Do not use a daily clarifying shampoo during the summer because this type of shampoo will strip away the moisture and oils from your hair making it more prone to frizz. Super smooth locks of hair require a daily conditioner that is very strong or a daily hair mask to prevent the frizz that comes with the summer time weather. Pantene Pro V Five Minute Strengthening Mask is a good option that is available at most retail stores. Another great hair mask for summer time frizzy hair is called John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Mask. Both will reduce the amount of frizz in your hair leaving locks summer smooth and ready for styling.
Styling Frizzy Hair to Get Smooth Locks:
Styling during the summer time should include the use of a frizz fighting serum, cream or balm. Depending on the styling technique that you use for your hair, an anti-frizz product can make the difference between frizzy hair and super smooth locks that are something to talk about. I like to use all of the John Frieda Frizz Ease products because they work very well for my hair and control the frizz that accompanies the Florida humidity. Unfortunately, humidity is a huge factor in the weather throughout most of the year so frizzy hair is always a problem for me. Look for an anti frizz product that contains silicone to repel water and add shine to your hair as well as an oil to help seal in moisture to reduce the frizz. Most anti-frizz products will contain both of these ingredients to help fight the frizzies that accompany your locks in warm weather.
Keeping Hair Frizz Free Outside in the Heat:
When you have to go outside and deal with the elements including humidity and heat your hair should be protected as best possible. Try wrapping your hair into a loose clip to hold it out of the wind as much as possible. If you have long hair you can wrap it into a quick bun that will protect the layers from the humidity and the heat. When you make your way back inside where the weather elements are not a factor you can gently let the hair back down. Anytime you go outside, fight the frizz by placing your hair up into a clip that will hold it together and not allow it to blow in the wind. The wind will only add to summertime hair frizz issues!
