Hot leg diet
Swap your heavy, cold weather diet to lighter fare. We know it will be tough to let those calorie-laden foods go away, but give it a try! For better-looking legs, eat better. Add foods like carrots, lettuce, leafy greens and citrus fruit. Avoid foods loaded with animal fats, fried foods and sugared confections. This delicious but deadly menu leads to cellulite, the ugly dimpling that appears on your lower body. Drink more water and cut out sugary drinks. Not only will your legs look better, you will feel better, too.
Slough it off
Now that you've treated yourself to better nutrition'"treat the outside too. Legs and feet have been hiding under tight shoes and warm socks. Before you can wiggle your flirtatious little toes and don breezy skirts, slough away dead skin cells. Give your gorgeous gams some tender loving care. Follow these steps for sexier, smoother summer legs.
- Soak in a warm/hot bath. This will soften leg hair and any rough skin.
- Wash your legs with a body cleanser. Clean legs from the top down to the toes.
- Scrub skin while legs are soapy using a massaging body brush. A nail brush is perfect for this task. Squirt a little body scrub on the bristles before you massage problem areas like your feet, bottom and those dimply spots on your thighs. Increasing circulation reduces cellulite!
- Rinse your legs with cool clear water. Now it's time to show some leg love. Pat your leg skin dry with a soft towel.
- Moisturize those lovely legs with a soothing moisturizer that contains natural oils like vitamin E, jojoba or almond oil.
- Treat yourself to a pedicure. Clip nails, push back cuticles and paint your toes a bright summertime color. No more hiding those sexy digits.
- Apply bronzing lotion to your legs for some quick color. For best results, do this a day after your leg treatment. If you do not want to wait, apply moisturizing bronzing lotion as the last step of your leg treatment.
Make a mix
Leg skin can toughen during cold weather. If you find that your first treatment hasn't softened your leg skin sufficiently, you'll need to supplement your skin care regimen weekly with a good scrub mixture. Scrubbing legs regularly will reduce dryness, increase elasticity and give you drop dead gorgeous legs. Head to the health food store or your pantry for these ingredients.
- Sea salt: Mix it with honey and you have the perfect treatment for a leg massage.
- Coffee grounds: Did you know caffeine is the chief ingredient for many cellulite remedies? After brewing your morning cup of Joe, set your coffee grounds aside. When you head for the shower, take your grounds with you. Rub those problem leg areas with the grounds for one minute. Follow your scrub with a cool rinse.
Replenish your skin daily with a good moisturizer and keep leg hairs away by shaving legs regularly. Add a brisk walk to your daily routine. Take in the sights of summer while increasing your leg health.
