Summer Love Quotes that Capture the Magic of the Season

Jet
All we need is the truth in our hand
Someone to call a friend
Never fear the darkness
All we need is the sun in the sky
And the hope of a summer to come with the meaning of love.

--Anonymous

--This quote kinda reminds me of the 1960's Summer of Love message. You know, all you need is love and friendship. The sun was the almighty power and summer was the best time to live. The hippies fought peacefully for the truth and part of their message was to, obviously, never fear darkness.

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?

--William Shakespeare

--There is no need to go further. I love Shakespeare, the man was a genius! This quote is famous, beyond words, for it's beauty and the thinking it requires to compare the one you love to a gorgeous summer's day. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!

If a June night could talk, it'd probably boast it invented romance.

--Bern Williams

--This quote made me smile. It's so cheeky and yet, it's totally right. June is the most popular month to get married in and the most pleasent month of summer. When you think of June, you think of fun, sweaty, good times! It also reminds me of a Midsummer Night's Dream and instantly, faries and naked women come to mind! Such a romantic notion!

I question not if thrushes sing
If roses load the air
Beyond my heart, I need not reach
When all is summer there.

--John Vance Cheny

-- This guy doesn't need a girl, he loves summer! This shows the appreciation one has towards summer, which is cool.

Ah, summer, what power you have to make us suffer and like it.

--Russel Baker

--If you replaced the word summer with love, it would still make sense. Summer is hot, sweaty, gross. But we still anticipate it because we adore it! Just like love.

I know I am but summer to your heart,
and not the four seasons of the year.

--Edna St. Vincent Millay

--Wow. What an awesome quote. This woman is just being used, but she wants to be this guy's everything. She just a side project and she realizes that. She put all that, so bluntly, but beatifully in that quote. Hats off to that!

T'is the last rose of summer
Left blooming alone.

--Thomas Moore

--This shows that you don't need a summer love, even though you are alone, you still have yourself, which to me, is nice in way.

In the middle of summer, all was golden in the sky
All was golden when the day met the night!

--Panic at the disco

--Awesome lyric, might I add. Ah, summer love! All by chance, but so accepted. You kiss, you hug, you dream, but when it ends, you still enjoy it.

This bud of love, by summer's ripening breath
May prove a beauteous flower next time we meet.

--William Shakespeare.

--Again, genius. I can just see it; a guy giving a girl a flower, and telling her goodbye! Such a 1940's movie moment, love it!

I can't wait to fall in love with you, you can't wait to fall in love with me
This just can't be summer love, you'll see.

-JT

-Haha, yes, I listen to the radio. This guy is serious about this fling and he wants to keep this girl!
