Summer Ocean

Tara M. Clapper

Covert; dark but of

Comfort. My grandfather's

Protective embrace,

The mystery of (rough shark skin?)

Grazing our feet.

Submerged, control surrendered to

Nature; this is how I came to

Worship Her. Push the wave,

Retaliation lulled. Sun made silent

With my own flux.
