Mayfest is an annual outdoor festival in Downtown Tulsa that supports the arts and music of the city. Over the course of four days each year, there is a broad range of music and arts displayed in the downtown area. As a family-oriented festival, you are encouraged to bring every member of the family -- no matter the age. No doubt, you will be able to find something for everyone. If you find yourself Downtown Tulsa you can enjoy some live music of Rock and Roll, Country, Classical, Jazz, or Pop while browsing the arts, crafts, pottery, and photography, or take the little ones down to the KidZone for some age appropriate fun and creativity. You can experience these attractions and so many more at Tulsa's annual outdoor festival this May.
This year, Mayfest will be taking place Downtown Tulsa from Thursday, May 14th through Sunday, May 17th. The coordinators of this year's Mayfest are still looking for volunteers to make the Tulsa arts and music festival as much of a success as it has been in past years. They need help in coupon sales, beverage sales, souvenir sales, Art Gallery host, KidZone activities, and artist relations. Volunteer shifts last three or four hours, so if you have time to fit in a few hours, or if you have time to work a few shifts over the span of four the days that Mayfest will be going on, and you are interested in enjoying some family fun and giving back to your community while enjoying some of the creativity and talent that Tulsa has to offer, please visit www.tulsamayfest.orgto download an application and find out more information on how you can get involved. As an added bonus, volunteers will also receive a $5.00 off coupon for official Mayfest 2009 merchandise as a way of saying thank you for making the festival another success.
Whether you are volunteering or just enjoying the weather and the atmosphere, you should definitely find some time to spare if you're in the area to check out part of what makes Tulsa so great.
