Summer
Summer smells like fresh fruit on a tree.
Summer looks like everyone at the beach.
Summer feels like a warm breeze.
Summer tastes like freshly grown fruit.
Summer sounds like birds singing.

Summer poetry written by me as a child.
Another summer poem by me as a child at 12-years-old:
Daze of Summer
Sweat on a glass of cool lemonade
Lazy beach days
Dancing in the rain
and stomping in puddles.
Campfires
Roasted marshmallows
Flash light tag
& creepy June bugs.
Paddeling down a stream
peacefully trout fishing
Eating ice cream
Ending the day with sweet
summer dreams.
Children's poetry and summer poetry is innocent and let's us all reflect on simple every day pleasures.

Children are so amazingly natural at creative endeavors, and so are we when we let ourselves remember that innocence of expression, that ease of truthfulness...
