2. Sunburn - As many people even forget to put sunscreen on their selves, it seems that it would be even easier to forget about your child. Sunburns are both unpleasant and cause a serious health risk. If you want to keep your toddler healthy this summer, make sure to lather on the sunscreen even though it may seem like a pointless task.
3. Food Poisoning - Just make sure you know what food you are putting in your child's body. When young kids acquire adult diseases, nothing good comes out of it and is usually much worse. So just make sure you know what you're feeding your child because you never know what poisons are entering the body.
4. Dehydration - With the temperatures rapidly increasing, do not forget how important water is to the body. Remember to give your child a glass of water every couple of hours to avoid any chance of dehydration and you should be fine.
5. Fireworks -This is more of a one day risk. The 4th of July poses serious risks that should not be overlooked. For toddlers, do not give them any type of firework. Fireworks are extremely hot and thousands of kids have gotten serious burns from playing with fireworks.
6. Drowning - To avoid drowning, make sure you know where your kid is in the pool, lake, beach, etc. If you are going to any body of water just keep an eye on your kid and always give them the proper flotation devices.
7. Bug Bites - Bug bites do not pose as serious of a risk as these other on the top 10, but they are still worth mentioning. Bug bites can be nasty and can be easily avoided by simply spraying some insect repellent around the body.
8. Strangers - Make sure you know where your child is at all times. I'm not saying that there are strangers trying to abduct your child at all times, but they are out there. Remember, know where your kid is at all times.
9. Diseases - WIth summer rolling around, there are plenty of diseases that always come up. With this year being the Swine Flu, just make sure your child is safe and not doing anything too risky that would increase their chances of catching a disease.
10. Seatbelts - This should be a no brainer. Most deaths in car accidents are caused because one isn't wearing their seatbelt. So to keep your child safe, make sure they wear their seatbelt at all times.
