Summer Rain

A Trilogy of Haikus

Louisa Burgess
Unlike in the fall
raindrops refresh and renew
that is summer rain

Grass and flowers say
thank you and grow taller
that is summer rain

Sunshine rainbows and
at nightfall crickets drowned out
that is summer rain
