How to Cook Yogurt Rice

This delicious dish is very nutritional. This is one of my favorite dishes. This dish is rich in vitamins, minerals like calcium, magnesium and potassium as this dish involves lot of yogurt and vegetables. Yogurt has many health benefits. The minerals found in yogurt help to balance the blood pressure thus good for people suffering from hypertension.

Calcium also helps in formation of bones and teeth.

Yogurt has fat burning property so this dish is useful for those who want to slim down.

Ingredients required:

Rice 100 gms

Yogurt 200 gms

Salt as per taste (I prefer one teaspoon)

Sugar one table spoon,

Black or white pepper crushed, one teaspoon

Cumin seeds roasted and crushed, one and half teaspoon

One small onion finely chopped.

2 inches carrot grated

One small cucumber finely chopped

Coriander leaves finely chopped

Method of cooking:

Steam the rice. Pour the curd in a bowl, now add sugar, salt and crushed pepper in it. Stir the yogurt mixture until the sugar crystal dissolves. Now add hot steamed rice into it. Add all vegetables and the chopped coriander leaves in the yogurt mixture. Now add fresh roasted cumin seeds in the mixture.

Yogurt rice is ready to serve. One can also add vegetables like steamed French bean, cabbage.
