While at the Summer Safari Day camp, children will be able to participate in games, arts and crafts, cooking, golf, movies, tennis, yoga, swimming, singing, field trips and parents night out. Activities will be held at the park, using its outdoor and indoor facilities as well as the pools.
The Summer Safari Day Camp is a great place for kids to enjoy summer, while being in a controlled, safe environment. They will be able to interact with other kids they may not have otherwise met and learn new skills, keeping them thinking and sharp for the upcoming school year, all while having fun.
I remember when I was little, my brother and I spent a summer at the summer camp at Todd Grove Park and we had a blast. I was probably ten years old and my brother twelve, we met some kids there that are still our friends today. We got to go swimming all the time, make bead bracelets and if I remember correctly the parents night out was a camp over at the park.
I did not know when I was little, then that parents had to pay for this camp, but as a former child at this camp and a now parent, I would have to say go for it moms and dads, if you can send your kids then do so. Not only will they be able to have a great time, but you can relax this summer knowing that they are okay and no getting into trouble.
The camp hours are Monday thru Friday, 7:30am to 5:30pm and half days are from 7:30am to 1:00pm or 1:00pm to 5:30pm. Unfortunately, as mentioned earlier, this day camp is not a free service and a fee must be imposed. Camp fees are as follows:
Two Weeks Full Days- $280
One Week Full Days- $150
One Week Half Days- $80
Three Full Days- $98
Three Half Days- $58
Full Day Drop In- $38
Half Day Drop In- $22
Summer Safari Day Camp registration packets can be picked up at the City of Ukiah located at 411 West Clay Street, Ukiah. If you need help paying for the day camp, NCO, Job Alliance, Pace or Social Services may be able to provide fee assistance.
