Summer Travel Guide to Mexico

Kayla McClure
Mexico is a colorful country, which offers so many adventurous opportunities for visitor's to encounter. Creativity is ignited upon entering the country. Are you planning a trip to Mexico for the first time? Mexico is very inexpensive for visitors to explore. A detailed itinerary for your travels to Mexico will guide you on the path to many unpredictable adventures on a reasonable budget.

What is an itinerary? The itinerary is a detail guide for traveler's to follow while on vacation. The "guide" can be changed at any given time to accommodate more or less adventures you may or may not wish to participate in. The itinerary will be customized to how long you plan to be in Mexico. Here is an example itinerary for a six day vacation. This itinerary will involve visiting three different cities while vacationing in Mexico.

Six day itinerary-

Preparation;

You cannot leave the country without being fully prepared for the unpredictable. A passport is required to travel outside the country. It is best to pack in advance. How do you know what to pack for a vacation in Mexico? The climate and weather conditions will factor in the packing process. The best tip in packing is to pack half and half. What is half and half? It is the packing of a few winter items as well as summer items.

Packing Checklist:

Sunglasses, Jacket, Sunblock, toiletries, Spanish dictionary, camera, map and clothing are just some items to pack for your vacation. Of course more will be packed but this gives you an ideal of where to begin in the packing process. Now that the packing process is over, the real planning can begin. Most or all tourists travel to Mexico by airplane. The best tip for traveling by plane is to purchase airline tickets in advance. This will save you money on the airfare.

You are now set for your trip to Mexico. The itinerary is simple and easy to plan. A six day vacation doesn't give tourists the opportunity to see everything. It is impossible to see and do everything during your six day vacation.

Example: Itinerary/Day one: Arrival into Mexico city

Mexico city is the Capitol of the country. Hint: the name itself gives it away. The first destination into the city is to visit a bank. The bank will exchange US money for euros. Now that your money is exchanged you can see and do everything there is in Mexico.

If you plan on traveling by motor vehicle or by cycling, you don't need a hotel. The simple task of camping outside gives you the perfect opportunity to experience Mexico and everything it has to offer. Not only do you get to see everything but to save money on your trip. If you wish to have a hotel while staying in each city, the resource guide will have all the information needed for your trip.

The Catedral Metropolitana is a beautiful structure in the city. The admissions is free, and visitor's are able to wander freely as they wish except for during mass. The building may seem to be sagging or sinking. And you have noticed correctly. Many other buildings are beginning to sink-unevenly.

The United States isn't the only country to have pawnshops. Mexico has more than one. The Nacional Monte de Piedad was established back in 1774. This is truly a landmark business to visit. It will be interesting to see what the pawnshop has to offer visitors. You may be surprised at what you may find for a reasonable price.

Shopping and sightseeing always seem to work up an appetite. Mexico city has many to choose from.

Supertacos Chupacabras is a restaurant that offers many quick eats. The tacos are either of beef or sausage. If the tacos doesn't fill your appetite. Then be sure to visit Churreria de Coyoacan. You are able to grab a bag of four deep fried churros. You are now able to continue on your journey to the next city.

Day two: Toluca

This city is west of Mexico City. Toluca was founded in the 16th century. The Casart is a great little shop to purchase handmade crafts. You may get lucky and see basket weavers. It is neat to watch how baskets are made by hand. The prices for the crafts are fixed.

The Museo de Culturas Populares is an interesting museum to visit while in Toluca. The traditions and crafts are on display. It is amazing to see the variations in the cultural aspects of the city and the country of Mexico.

Are you hungry? Be sure to stop in at Toluquenos. This unique cafe sells tacos de Obispo, which is a sausage from Tenancingo. The cafe location is easily located. How? Crowds are often flocking to the cafe. The journey continues on...

Day three: Tijuana

This city is sure to bring entertainment to your vacation. Strip clubs, brothels or even bars are your choice of adventures. What is the first place to see in Tijuana? And that my friends is the Museo de Cera. It is indeed a wax museum, how cool is that. You will be amazed to see which figures are even there.

Michael Jackson, Madonna, Motley Crew and John Lennon are of the few you will come across in the museum. These celebrities do not appear to be "normal." The museum has put a funny twist to the wax figures. Be sure to check out this museum while in town.

The La Belle Claude is a budget friendly eatery. The pastries sold here are sure to hit the "sweet" spot. What is a pastry without a latte? The answer is quite simple, no. This eatery even sells pickled goods, which are homemade. The journey continues on...

Day four: Cancun

The distance from Tijuana to Cancun is quite far. A bus or even cycling can bring you to your final destination. What is visiting Mexico without spending a bit of time in Cancun? It is the ultimate destination. The beaches in Cancun are beautiful and relaxing for tourists. Which beach is the best to visit?

For most of the beaches you need to enter through a local hotel lobby. Anyone is allowed to enjoy the beaches except for those within a military compounds. Playa las Perlas, Playa Juventud or Playa Linda are a few beaches you can visit while in Cancun. The beaches are not the only landmarks or activities in Cancun. Diving and snorkling are a terrific pass time.

The relaxation and enjoyment of the vacation time in Cancun can really work up an appetite. Splurge, you deserve it. Before choosing what to eat, check yourself into a nice hotel. After the long travel, a bit of pampering never hurt anyone.

The Weavery traveler is a budget friendly hotel. This place is is located downtown, in close range to many wonderful opportunities. This hotel offers guests a big breakfast buffet. Private rooms are available down the street for rent. Los de Pescado is a budget friendly restaruant and is easy to order. Two items are available on the menu; tacos and ceviche. This eatery is known to be the most crowded place in Cancun. While staying in this beautiful city, be sure to see why it is the most crowded restaruant.

Day five and six:

Last two days in paradise, spend these last hours to the fullest. Whether that be soaking up the rays or the waves of the ocean. As a tourist, enjoy yourself. Explore everything the city has to offer, you will be amazed at what is available.

Day six:

It is time to leave the beautiful country. The vacation of a lifetime has come to an end. The memories of your vacaction will last a lifetime with your photographs and gifts.
