If you are a first time treasure seeker there are a few things you should know. First of all the term treasure is relative, meaning that it contains a couple of different meanings in a family of terms. Treasure as in gold, silver and various precious items and stones carry much weight and enthusiasm. Treasure as in location, land sights or the deep blue abyss that many crave as a spot to indulge their senses and become another person that dwells within the underwater ecosystem.
Underwater Vacations: Sites to Explore
In Cape Cod, Provincetown is the place to go if you are looking to explore shipwrecks. Some of the ships include the Flyer, and the Margaret Rose. You actually get to go diving and explore these ships first hand. Not to mention look at the beautiful sea life that is swimming around. If you are more just into diving and enjoying the sea life than Herring Cove Beach would be your best bet. this beach is also located in cape Cod and allows you to snorkel or scuba dive. The water is very clear and allows you to explore at your own pace.
Fire Island, which is located on the southern shore of Long Island, NY, has remarkable beauty that you will absolutely adore. If you are looking for a few days excursion and are an excellent diver, then taking a trip to see the Andrea Doria would be you ideal location. The ship is over 240 below the deep. It was an Italian Luxury liner that sank in the 50's. It's fate was with a collision with a freighter.
In the sunny place of Homestead, FL there is Biscayne National Park. The best time to head out to this beautiful place is between the months of June and July. This is a place for beginner divers and even experienced divers. There are reefs, barrier islands, and subtropical wetlands. Not to mention the 200+ species of fish you get to admire.
Underwater Vacations: What To Look For
Regardless of your choice in the term treasure you can find something in your choice of underwater festivities. It is important to pick a place that has to offer all you want in an underwater excursion. Adventures are hard to come by in today's day and age that is somewhat non-violent always a wealth of education.
As far as islands are concerned, you want to be sure that they are usually in quite a bit of sun light as most fish will flock to it and make it a perfect habitat for an abundance of life forms. The same can be true for mammals and unique beings of the water. Finding the perfect underwater area is key to locating the right destination for your summer vacation.
Hawaii, the Caribbeans, and so many more are perfect examples of the abundance of life therein. The warmer the climate the better the chances of biological treasures that live beneath the deep blue surface of the sea.
If it is fame and fortune you seek it is mandatory that you be sure that the storm season for the area in which you choose to plunder is over. There are many documentaries out there, in libraries, learning channels etc., on the specific locations where a ship or vessel have gone down, the conditions of which it had happened and the amount of goods on board. This can help you determine where to look. Searching for ancient goods can be quite exhilarating.
For an underwater adventure of this magnitude you should consider, if you do not already have a vessel, renting a yacht for a few days to a week so that you can thoroughly investigate the area of your deduction and reasoning. Remember that half of the fun regarding the hunt is determining the logic behind its location.
Summer Enthusiasts: The Rewards
The rewards are never ending and the happiness is immeasurable. There are so many things to see, find and do underwater that the depths are the limit. There is a great wide ocean out there to explore so why not decide the nautical journey.
It is very important that I point out a few factors that just might save your life. If you have never done this before you should make certain that you have an experiences person (diver) guide you out to sea your first time and teach you the ways. Secondly, be prepared! There are so many things that can save your life against sharks and other underwater predators, but make sure that it is a brand or company that you trust. Lastly, know how to navigate a boat or yacht is you choose to go out to sea by yourself. You may not realize just how easy it is to get lost when the waters all look the same.
