Summer's Best Golfing Vacations

Danielle Dean
Looking forward to this summer's vacation? Want a trip that the whole family will enjoy? Of course! So how about making this summer's vacation focus on Dad. Instead of booking a trip where Dad be bored and spend half the day sleeping why not plan a vacation that will give Dad full access to the golf course? Before you imagine spending all vacation bored yourself, remember, many of the nicest golf courses are located on or near great shopping, food, and entertainment that will appeal to the rest of the family. Before you pack to go, make sure to read up on golf trips . There are many things to consider when planning a trip, such as availability of tee times, and dress code for the course.

The following golf vacations will make a perfect retreat for every one in your family. It is important thing to keep one thing in mind about both these resorts is that you are taking a summer trip to the south. Make sure to pack accordingly. Southern heat and humidity can be a little extreme, so make sure to pack shorts, light weight clothing, sunglasses, and hats. Also pack a good sunscreen for the family. While on vacation make sure to drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration. They are set in great Southern locations with lots of great scenery, and of course great golf!

The first place I would recommend a golfing trip to is Callaway Gardens. Located around an hour from Atlanta, Georgia, Callaway Gardens offers a beautiful and relaxing get-away for every member of your family. The golfer in your family will love Callaway's three golf courses. Sky View has just re-opened from reconstruction. Mountain view is a challenging 7,057 yard course that played host to the PGA Tour's Buick Challenge for more than twelve years. Lake View is Callaway Garden's original golf course with nine different water holes. Callaway itself is full of beautiful trails and unique exhibits. Robins Lake Beach also allows for beach fun without the salt water! Adults will love the Memorial Chapel along with the special organ concerts presented there. Children of all ages will love the Cecil B. Day Butterfly Center, its warm tropical atmosphere along with waterfall is home to over 1,000 butterflies. Callaway Gardens also offers a special day camp just for children that allows them see a circus, play tons of games, ride the Chickadee Choo-Choo trains, and enjoy the beach with swimming, fishing, and a water playground. Teens will enjoy water sports including learning to waterski, beach volleyball, great tennis courts, and lots of arts and crafts.

The next golf vacation I would recommend is the Blue Water Bay resort in Niceville, Florida. Niceville just across the mid-Bay bridge minutes away from Destin, Florida. The gold lover will love Blue Water Bay's four different courses:Bay, Marsh, Lake, and Magnolia. These courses were designed by famous course designers , Tom Fazio and Jerry Pate, to show off the area's natural beauty. The rest of the family will love it because there is so much to see on the Emerald Coast. Destin has plenty of beautiful beaches, go-karts, shopping, and eating. The best thing about staying at the Blue Water Bay Resort is because its located in Niceville, there are less tourist around so the stores and restaurants are less crowded.

Both of these golfing vacations will be a huge hit with the family. Every family member will be able to find an activity to entertain themselves, plus Dad will even get up and enjoy the family time!
