SummerSlam: 2011 Predictions
SummerSlam Will Be Live on Pay Per View (PPV) Sunday August 14th, 8 PM EDT
SPECIAL GUEST REFEREE - UNDISPUTED WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: John Cena (Champion) vs. CM Punk (Champion)
CM Punk left the WWE with the WWE Championship after defeating John Cena at Money In The Bank. Punk set out to complete what he said he was going to do. Since the WWE thought Punk was gone for good, HHH strated a Championship Tournament. Rey Mysterio won the Championship Tournament to become the new WWE Champion. Mysterio did not have a lot of time to celebrate as he defended his Championship later that night against John Cena. Cena defeated Mysterio to become the new WWE Champion. As Cena was celebrating his Championship win Punk made his return to the WWE. Over the next few weeks it was revealed that both men where WWE Champions. As a result they would face each other at SummerSlam to determine an Undisputed Champion. To ensure that there would be only one Champion after SummerSlam HHH made himself the special guest referee. Punk thinks HHH added himself to this Match because he likes to be in the spot light. HHH will play some kind of role in determining the Undisputed Champion. That role could involve turning on Punk. Making a Match between the two at WrestleMania XXVIII even more likely. HHH can not turn on Punk. The WWE let Punk walk out of Money In The Bank with the WWE Championship. If he were to lose at SummerSlam his victory at Money In The Bank would seem pointless. The guy on ESPN even believes Punk will win. He thinks Punk will win because he is "The People's Champion". I thought The Rock was "The People's Champion". Punk will not win because he is "The People's Champion". Punk will win because the WWE needs him to win. To have Punk leave the company with the WWE Championship only to return a few weeks later and not be Champion would ruin the storyline. For those reason I'm giving the victory to CM Punk.
Winner: New Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk
NO HOLDS BARRED - WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Randy Orton vs. Christian (Champion)
This feud has been going on for a while now. Christian won the World Heavyweight Championship at Extreme Rules. Five days later he lost the Championship to Orton on SmackDown Christian had the opportunity to win back the Championship at Over The Limit but fell short in the end. After losing at Over The Limit, Christian turned heel and faced Orton at Capitol Punishment. Christian got the short end of the stick at Capitol Punishment when the referee cost him the match by counting even though Christian's foot was clearly under the ropes. That is what brought forth the stipulation for their match at Money In The Bank. After all these matches I thought the WWE would be tired of showing Christian verse Orton. For that reason I picked Orton to win at Money In The Bank, but Christian won the Championship instead. Christian defeated Orton by disqualification. The Championship usually does not change hands by disqualification but this match had a special stipulation. As a result of that stipulation Christian became the first Superstar to ever win the World Heavyweight Championship by disqualification. Since Orton lost these two will be facing off in a No Holds Barred Match. That means Orton or Christian can not be disqualified. Since Christian won the Championship by disqualification it would seem Orton has the advantage. However, it appears Christian has a trick up his sleeve. Since anything goes Christian can find himself some muscle to keep the Championship around his waist. That muscle could come in the form of Brodus Clay, Mark Henry, or Mason Ryan. Besides these two have already faced each other on multiple occasions. The WWE and WWE Universe has to be getting tired of seeing these two wrestle each other. For those reasons I'm giving the victory to Christian.
Winner: Christian
MATCH: Sheamus vs. Mark Henry
Henry has been on a path of destruction putting both The Big Show and Kane out of action. As a result of Henry's actions no one wanted to face him. Luckily for Henry, Zack Ryder (Teddy Long's Assistant) found Henry an opponent. Henry crushed his opponent Bobby Howard. As Henry was about to put Howard out of action he was interrupted by Teddy Long. Long told Henry he could not compete anymore because no one wanted to face him. There was one Superstar who wanted to face Henry, that Superstar was Sheamus. Henry has already proved that he can destroy the biggest Superstars in the WWE making him a legitimate heel. Sheamus turned face to take on Henry. For that reason Sheamus needs the victory more than Henry. A victory for Sheamus will help put him over with the crowd. For those reasons I'm giving the victory to Sheamus.
Winner: Sheamus
MATCH: Daniel Bryan vs. Wade Barrett
Bryan announced that he would be cashing in his Money In The Bank Briefcase at WrestleMania XXVIII. That gives the WWE a lot of time to get Bryan over with the WWE Universe. If Bryan is unable to get over with the WWE Universe the WWE could attempt to turn him heel or have him lose the Briefcase to someone. Based on what has happened over the past weeks it would appear that if Bryan were to lose his Briefcase it would be to Barrett. Since the WWE is trying to get Bryan over with the WWE Universe he should be winning almost every Match from now until WrestleMania. On SmackDown something shocking happened. Alberto Del Rio the Raw Money In The Bank Briefcase winner defeated Bryan on his own show SmackDown. Bryan should have not lost to a Raw Superstar on his own show. Bryan will probably rebound at SummerSlam but Barrett does not thing he should have the Money In The Bank Briefcase. I agree with Barrett, Bryan should not have the Money In The Bank Briefcase. For those reasons I'm giving the victory to Barrett even though Bryan will probably win.
Winner: Wade Barrett
DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Kelly Kelly vs. Beth Phoenix
Kelly Kelly won the Championship on June 20 th, 2011. Although she has not held the Championship for very long her time as Champion will be coming to an end. Past Divas Champions have only held onto the Championship for about two months. Kelly Kelly will be near that two month mark at SummerSlam. Beth Phoenix also turned heel on Raw, making it more likely that she we win the Championship. Phoenix turned heel by beating up Kelly Kelly and announcing the days of the skinny beautiful Divas are over. Natalya jumped on board with Phoenix when she attacked AJ after her match on SmackDown. More than likely WWE is setting up for the return of Kharma. Kharma was taking out the Divas one by one until she left because of her pregnancy. When Kharma returns she will likely be on the side of the beautiful Divas taking out Beth Phoenix, Natalya, and any other Divas they join force with. For those reasons I'm giving the victory to Beth Phoenix.
Winner: New Divas Champion Beth Phoenix
Other Notes: Only five matches have been announced, most PPVs have at least eight matches. For that reason look for Cody Rhodes to defend his Intercontinental Championship against Ezekiel Jackson. Also look for David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty to defend their Tag Team Championships against Jey and Jimmy Uso.

OH and I have to say, I was a little disappointed that they didn't schedule Cody to defend the IC Championship on one of the biggest PPVs of the year. Otherwise, it wasn't a bad PPV. I really enjoyed seeing Edge & Kevin Nash again!
SummerSlam wasn't bad. I forgot to do my predictions again though. :-/ Response to your comment - I'd love to go see Annie again! My niece and I had a blast. It's supposed to be returning to Broadway within the next few years though. For Raw, I thought Punk left for real but may have struck a deal, but I was wrong lol.
