Summertime Dreams

Paula Bowen

I feel the warmth of the summer sun
It's the same way I feel with you
I like the way the season has begun
Enjoying the sweet summertime view
The summer nights are long without you
But we talk across great distances
Wondering if our souls have touched
Wanting summertime happiness
Longing for it so much
Typed words are our connection
With phone calls when we can
A gift or two we'll send
From this faraway land
Words spoken so soft
Makes me smile inside
Feelings shared no longer to hide
The sound of your voice
Makes you feel so close
Shutting my eyes when we talk
So I can see you by my side
When I sleep I sleep with thoughts of you
To make the loneliness bearable
The summer nights turn to morning dew
Going through the day alone is terrible
But I know you will be here soon
To enjoy with me the sweet summertime moon
