Summit County, Colorado, offers visitors a wide opportunity to enjoy cross-country skiing. Cross-country skiing is great for those skiers who enjoy the fitness aspect of skiing, and wish to avoid the crowded downhill slopes. Here is a look at some of the great cross-country skiing opportunities available in Summit County.

Keystone Nordic Skiing Center

The Keystone Nordic Skiing Center is located at the River Golf Course Club House at the Keystone Resort, and offers visitors more than nine miles of groomed ski trails as well as thirty-five miles of back country trails through the White River National Forest.

The Nordic Skiing Center has everything you need for a great day of skiing with daily ski equipment rental, group and private lessons, and a wide variety of programs for the entire family.

The center is open daily from 9 AM to 4:30 PM, with daily trail fees costing $11 per adult, $7 for senior's age sixty-five to sixty-nine, and no trail fees for seniors over the age of seventy as well as children under the age of twelve. BreckenridgeNordicCenter

The Breckenridge Nordic Center is located in the mining town of Breckenridge, lying between the Tensile Range and Continental Divide. Visitors can enjoy thirty-tow Km of backcountry ski trails, as well as a skier bridge, and two Nordic skier tunnels that allow for a continuous looped trail. The center offers equipment rental, and ski lessons. Daily trail fees are $15 for adults, $10 for children seventeen and under, $10 for seniors sixty to sixty-nine years of age, and $4 for seniors over the age of seventy, children under the age of six are free. FriscoNordicCenter

The Frisco Nordic Center lies along the shores of Lake Dillon and offers skiers 40 Km of groomed trails that run through the White River National Forest. The center offers a log Lodge with a snack bar, equipment rental, and professional group or private ski lessons. Along with cross country skiing, the center also offers visitors 13 Km of snowshoeing trails along the peninsula of Lake Dillon. Daily trail fees are $15 for adults, $10 for children seventeen and under, $10 for seniors sixty to sixty-nine years of age, $4 for seniors over the age of seventy, and children under the age of six are free.
