Sun, Moon, and Music

James R. Ford

Blazing brightly, the clouds can't stop the brilliant light,

hope of dreams, dazzle and disappear into the Everglades

come back in the morning, finding you kissing the horizon of the sea

Your friend and mine, that hunk of rock, uninhabited

save for a flag, some Titleist golf balls, a cart,

and plans for an exclusive course for wealthy caucasians only.

This tune is spinning out of control, hit pause,

take a break, and resume.

The same song is still playing only this time it's louder

sweeter and the words are decipherible.

Hold on to your hat, imagine that, the planets are aligning again

with supernatural powers designed to change the pace of hopeless anxiety,

unimagined loneliness, and the cicumference of truth.
