like a butterfly drying her wings, awaiting her time
and gathering strength. The sun begins it's ascent into the azure sky that cradles her.
At first she reaches forth gently, with soft tendrils of light pushing the darkness into oblivion. Her magnificent glowing orb, gains altitude and warmth.
She stretches and reaches her true height somewhere in mid-day. Her rays pull forth life from
the planet that she blesses.
Sometimes she bakes, dries and destroys, without knowledge or feeling. Without her life has no meaning, only a cold
black void where reality does not and cannot exist.
The bright orange circle of fire grows pale and starts to weaken.
Her tentacles grow weary and flaccid in late afternoon.
She begins to slip downward into oblivion.
She gasps one last time and uses her final strength to cast out her last bits of color.
Pinks, apricots and dusky purple send a trail up into the coming night sky, just to remind everyone
that she was there and would return in her full glory again tomorrow.
Night begins it's secretive decent.
A gray velvet eraser seems to swipe at the early night sky, wiping away every trace of color that had existed moments before.
The night puts on a dark shroud, covering herself in secret shadows. She pulls her black cloak about her as if to hide.
Suddenly silver strands of light slip through the sky. The Earth takes on the ethereal costume of enchantment and beauty.
The moon's growing platinum shape takes on the black velvet back-round that is the night and transforms the stage into a place where
fairies meet and lovers dance in love, with quiet abandonment. The time has come for the world to rest, absconding all who reside in the darkness
to sleep and await the first fingers of the sun that will soon climb in the heavens. The circle is complete.
