Sunbelt Oats and Honey Chewy Granola Bars

Very Chewy and Quite Sweet

For a while my son and I have been keeping granola bars on hand for a quick snack. I like to take them to my work because they are somewhat filling and they are very quick to be consumed. My son likes to have them as well. I recently discovered an inexpensive brand of granola bars, Sunbelt, that were very chewy and therefore easier for my son, who is a toddler, to eat. Two of the varieties of theirs that we tried were Golden Almond and Oats and Honey Chewy Granola Bars.

The box of granola bars is only about two dollars and it includes eight granola bars. The taste that they provide is nice and sweet, so they are a great alternative to a candy bar and you still feel that you are getting a sweet treat. I think that this sweetness comes from the honey in the granola bars. I tend to stray away from overly flavored honey items, like cereal and granola bars. My son however likes them very much. The Sunbelt Oats and Honey Chewy Granola Bars are definitely more liked by my son than me but if you like sweet granola bars that you probably would enjoy them just as much as my son does.

Since both my son and I like variety I think that we get this variety of granola bars as well as others. Despite being so sweet the granola bars only had eight grams of sugars, which was the same as many others. The nutrition facts of the Sunbelt Oats and Honey Chewy Granola Bars also included two grams of protein, one gram of fiber, nineteen grams of carbohydrates, sixty-five milligrams of sodium and one hundred and thirty calories with forty-five calories from fat. I was certain that the granola bars had other sweeteners along with honey, and I was right.

The ingredients for the Sunbelt Oats and Honey Chewy Granola Bars included granola made of whole grain oats, sugar, coconut, palm kernel and soybean oils, corn syrup, honey, molasses, soy lecithin, salt, corn starch, peanuts, almonds and egg whites. In addition there was corn syrup, crisp rice, palm kernel and soybean oils, water, sorbitol, nonfat dry milk, soy lecithin, salt, carrageenan and sugar. The ingredients were about the same of the other granola bars that we ate. Although I don't feel that the ingredients are ideal they are what we can afford to get right now.

I would recommend for anyone who likes sweet honey tasting granola bars to try the Sunbelt Oats and Honey Chewy Granola Bars. I also would recommend them to anyone who liked exceptionally chewy granola bars as these are some of the chewiest granola bars that I have tried, yet they are not so chewy that they fall apart on you. This makes them ideal for my son because they are easy for him to eat without making a big mess. I am glad that we found the Sunbelt brand granola bars and tried this particular variety.
