Every year, from May through October, the Farmer's Market opens on State Street in historic downtown Howell, Michigan. Fifty vendors from many regions of Michigan, including local farm markets, line the street adjacent to the historic Livingston County Courthouse to share their locally grown produce and handmade goods. This fun family oriented event begins at 9 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m. in the afternoon each and every Sunday, rain or shine.Visitors to the Howell Farmer's Market are able to enjoy engaging conversations with the vendors while sampling wonderful items from across Southeastern Michigan. Whether you're looking for fresh tomato plants for your garden, heirloom floral varieties to plant or a handcrafted birdhouse carved from local woodlands you can find it at the Farmer's Market in Howell. Needlework, artisan jewelry, woodwork, soaps, candles and woodwork are just a few of the quality items offered at the Howell Farmer's Market.

Fresh fruit, vegetables, and herbs are abundant during their growing season, and that includes fresh organically certified produce from several vendors. Perennials and annuals abound, including potted plants, floral arrangements and beautiful local tree varieties. Visitors to the Howell Farmer market can enjoy a bite to eat with fresh honeys and maple syrups and fresh baked breads. However, no meal is complete without a bit of protein and some of the best USDA certified organically grown beef and pork cuts can be found at the Howell Farmer's Market as well as certified organic raw cheeses.

This family oriented Farmer's Market also has fun, economically priced items for the kids such as water balloons, and hand painted bug rocks. Children will also love the free samples of fresh baked breads and the aroma of roasted almonds. Vendors are also on site with hotdogs and other ready to eat and drink items.

In its fourteenth year, the Howell Sunday Farmer's Market is supported through generous donations from the major sponsor, First National Bank, however many other sponsorships help to support the Sunday live entertainment that accompanies the Farmer's Market activities. The entertainment is partially funded through the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs. Visitors to the Farmer's Market have enjoyed the sound of such wonderful groups as Michael May and Blue Infusion, folk artist Cass Dufrin and The Sweet Adeline Comedy Quartet.
