Fresh fruit, vegetables, and herbs are abundant during their growing season, and that includes fresh organically certified produce from several vendors. Perennials and annuals abound, including potted plants, floral arrangements and beautiful local tree varieties. Visitors to the Howell Farmer market can enjoy a bite to eat with fresh honeys and maple syrups and fresh baked breads. However, no meal is complete without a bit of protein and some of the best USDA certified organically grown beef and pork cuts can be found at the Howell Farmer's Market as well as certified organic raw cheeses.
This family oriented Farmer's Market also has fun, economically priced items for the kids such as water balloons, and hand painted bug rocks. Children will also love the free samples of fresh baked breads and the aroma of roasted almonds. Vendors are also on site with hotdogs and other ready to eat and drink items.
In its fourteenth year, the Howell Sunday Farmer's Market is supported through generous donations from the major sponsor, First National Bank, however many other sponsorships help to support the Sunday live entertainment that accompanies the Farmer's Market activities. The entertainment is partially funded through the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs. Visitors to the Farmer's Market have enjoyed the sound of such wonderful groups as Michael May and Blue Infusion, folk artist Cass Dufrin and The Sweet Adeline Comedy Quartet.
Vendors interested in participating in the Howell Sunday Farmer's Market can contact the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce at (517) 546-3920 and ask to be put in touch with the Market Manager.
