We comfort them when they come in

Looking for a friend.

When they're all grown, they won't recall

The time we've spent with them.

It may appear this call on us

Could be without reward

But the love we give to these little ones

Is in service to our LORD.

As they mature they will build upon

The foundations we've put in place.

They'll be sure to remember our lessons

If they can't recall our face.

The lives we touch, the care we give

Is a blessing from above.

The smiles we see and the laughter we hear

Is our reward for love.

When they are grown and gone from us

They will pass on our Master's touch

In part, because of the work we do,

The work we love so much.
