Sunday School

Missy H.
Hot dogs, chips, and dip,
a Sunday School class dinner
we were only little tykes,
pure and innocent beginners
My papa and his helper lady
tried to teach us what we should know
Prayed the Lord our souls to keep,
and for us to safely grow
When asked for questions and comments
I told them I was scared to die
When told I'd be with God, I replied
"But, I think I'm afraid to fly."
"Well, whenever you're afraid, God's arms", they said,
"wrap around you strong and tight.
Just remember that he's holding you
through every day and night."
Staring at the picture,
I laugh because we looked uncool
But, I never forgot the lesson
that I learned in Sunday School
