Sunnyvale Company Releases Landfill Friendly Power Sport Batteries
Neighborhood: Sunnyvale
Sunnyvale, CA 94086
United States of America
Local Sunnyvale company, Shorai announced the release of a new "Lithium-based starter battery for the Power sports Industry," that will benefit anyone with a boat, motorcycle, or any other sport vehicle. The uses may extend beyond sports vehicles, however.

For instance, anyone with a generator system that stores energy in batteries may be excited about this product. Sunnyvale residents who own local mountain cabins with generator power know how important a good battery is. This new battery is also environmentally friendly as it "can be disposed of with no toxic effect to landfills," according to Motorsports.

They claim that the weight will be about one quarter (or less) the weight of a regular lead-acid battery and last up to four times longer, holding "a charge for a year without maintenance," according to Shorai.

With the success of this new technology, perhaps this will also bring new jobs to Sunnyvale.
