Sunnyvale Join Toys R Us, Shaquille O'Neal, and US Marines in "Shaq Give Back"

Toys for Tots and Toys R Us are once again joining forces with the United States Marine Corps and Shaquille O'Neal to help more than 14 million children in need this Christmas. The national poverty rate has climbed higher than it has been since 1994. This year the Census Bureau estimates that more than 14 million people in the United States are now living below the poverty line. Here is Sunnyvale we are not exempt. Poverty has reached into every city across the US, including the affluent Bay Area.

The Marines will report for "Toys for Tots duty" on November 5th and 6th at Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us stores "to generate awareness about the fundraising campaign in local markets," according to PR Newswire.

Toys for Tots, Toys"R"Us, Inc. has raised over $20 million since 2004. Collection for toys will begin on Sunday, October 31 and end Sunday, December 5.
